A bulimic restaurant critic struggles with her job, Marcus sets up Massive FM, and a young woman is murdered in a telephone kiosk.

Episode 2

The murder of Sally Friel affects her family and others, including the taxi driver who witnessed it. Shaun has a panic attack. Massive FM hits the air.

Episode 3

Cab driver Bernard, witness to Sally Friel's murder, cracks under the strain of his troubled life.

Episode 4

Bernard is charged with murder. Claire seeks out the mother of Sally's killer. Sean thinks about pursuing August Werner to Switzerland.

Episode 5

Zahid watches Shaun closely. Marcus re-launches Massive FM. Helen is humiliated by Zahid's family. Clare finds out she is pregnant.

Episode 6

Hilary presses Lloyd about their relationship. Bernard receives a manslaughter sentence for Chris's death, devastating Janet and Florrie.

Episode 7

The pregnant Claire takes in an embarrassing flatmate, and Florrie and Janet are outraged by Bernard's seemingly lenient prison sentence. Shaun's life is in tatters and Hilary makes a decision about her relationship with Lloyd.
